What is Executive Functioning?
Executive Functioning (EF) is the ability to plan, organize, and implement behavioral actions to achieve a goal. Studies have shown that EF skills are key indicators of academic success and are more predictive of school readiness than IQ or already developed reading and math skills. Sometimes due to ADHD, a medical issue, or life transition, executive functioning can diminish. Challenges with executive functioning can impact daily life, academic and work performance, and emotional regulation. Together, we can create strategies, find tools, and increase motivation to organize and plan more effectively.
How does Executive Functioning Impact Me?
Executive Functioning difficulties can look like forgetting appointments, not being able to sit still, messy office or room, excessive daydreaming or fidgeting, problems completing assignments on time, or emotion dysregulation. This is not an exhaustive list as Executive Functioning impacts a number of areas of life.
How can I improve my Executive Functioning?
To achieve your goals, evidence-based treatments include increasing working memory, flexible thinking, and self-control. Improving executive functioning takes time and consistent effort, but it's highly achievable. By incorporating structured routines, leveraging tools, and building key cognitive skills, individuals can enhance their ability to plan, focus, regulate emotions, and achieve their goals more effectively.

Youth and Adolescent ADHD Coaching
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a neurodevelopmental, genetic disorder affecting millions of children worldwide. It often continues into adulthood, manifesting in symptoms such as inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity. Specific coaching strategies include, but are not limited to, visual schedules, working memory improvement, structured routines, interpretation of social cues, and behavioral plans. Parents and caregivers will be included in the coaching and empowered to implement home-based strategies. The coaching is collaborative and focused on the long-term goals of the child and family. Unlike school-based EF coaching, our services focus on the holistic needs of the child in each domain of their life: academic, home, social, and extracurricular activities.

College-Age/Adult EF Coaching
Executive functioning coaching is a goal-focused, collaborative process that helps adults strengthen skills like time management, organization, planning, task initiation, focus, and emotional regulation. These are the skills that allow us to manage daily life, work, and responsibilities more effectively. In college and later in adulthood, we often need additional support implementing structure and organizing tasks due to the multiple demands on our time and energy. A coach works closely with the individual to identify personal goals, uncover strengths, and develop customized tools for focus, planning, follow-through, and emotional regulation.
3
Parent Coaching
Parent coaching can help caregivers better understand the symptoms of ADHD and help support their children in the home and academic environments. Specific strategies are targeted at implementing more routine in the home, building more consistency with homework and chores, reducing tension and stress around routines, and increasing the child's autonomy. Parent coaching sessions are often 30-45 minutes and target the specific needs of the child and family. For instance, some families need support around accomplishing night routines. Others need help around consistency with homework and eating healthy meals. The family's needs will be assessed and a unique plan will be developed to support the caregivers and child.
